It is now exactly two years since I purchased my Mitsubishi Outlander Plug in Hybrid Electric Vehicle. This is a good point to consider the long term ownership of the car, and whether my expectations and the promises made by the manufacturer were met.
Since my last update a month ago I've done some serious driving, adding 2500km to the odometer.
This allowed me to conduct two further tests;
Extended distance driving with battery + petrol
A full fuel cycle of petrol only
After one year with the Mitsubishi Outlander Plug-in Hybrid EV, I ask the questions;
- Do Electric Vehicle's (EV's) and hybrids perform as advertised?
- How reliant are we on fossil fuels and is it possible to switch to pure EV?
- Can we supply EV power from rooftop solar?
- What does this mean for the vehicle market?
